Deadline has elapsed

This error seems to happen often, but then the email is sent eventually. Any ideas?

Reason: failed to resolve queue u26907:108@domain.com: MX lookup for domain.com failed after 5.000866393s: deadline has elapsed

Always to the same domain? Or many different domains? If the former, theremay be something lame about the DNS for that domain. If the latter, it may be your DNS infra that needs to be beefed up for your DNS query load.

That timeout duration is controlled via set_mx_timeout - KumoMTA Docs if you wish to change it.

I reckon it was just a few domains. Nothing abnormal, I think their NS was down at that time.

I also use Unbound so hmm can’t get ratelimited

Does KumoMTA loop through all name servers or just the first one?
