I have been mailing testmails to gmail without issues for some time on KumoMTA.. but now I pushed some real emails for production and now KumoMTA is locking up. It is not responding at all anymore. Not even a connect on port 2625 (which I did configure). It seems to me that something in the shaping is locking up.
I am running Debian 12 with the ubuntu 22 kumomta production install of kumomta.
I did have some extra shaping rules in there for yahoo and web.de, but I also disabled those extra shaping rules and the same unresponsiveness was coming back after each restart.
From the logs I could not really find what was causing the lockups.
Hey there @magnanimous-umbrella, thanks for posting. Please read the “Troubleshooting” and “How to Ask for Help” buttons below. If you would like a 1:1 support session from the KumoMTA team, details are at the “Book a Support Session” button below.
Aside from doing the above, please share the output of the journal while your message is injecting and trying to deliver.
Well the issue is… kumomta is not responding it all
but as last resort I installed the latest kumomta-dev and that seems to work just fine
I have been looking at the debug level logs to try out where it was causing the lockup… but it appeared to me like it is in the shaping session somewhere
That can happen if the file is malformed. a verbose journal would help
but for now I am fine running the latest and greatest ![]()
I assume the server is pugged in, you have turned it off and back on again?
yup rebooted
The support guy in me just had to ask.
but same thing
yeah well sensible question
actually your documentation for trouble shooting is good
but I my case I could not even use ‘kcli’
but well fixed for now… using the latest bugs
oh?
and not old bugs
Curious why you could not use kcli.
and maybe I should not use a ubuntu 22 binary on Debian 12
probably not. I would build from source on Debian
